Live sites available for all Hurricanes fans to watch Monday's game!

In conjunction with the Tasmanian Government, the Hobart Hurricanes can share that Tasmanians without a ticket to Monday night's BBL Final, will be able to watch the huge match between the Hobart Hurricanes and the Sydney Thunder from three different locations around Tasmania.

After tickets to Monday's game were announced that they will be sold out at 12.30 pm today, the Hurricanes worked with the Tasmanian Government, and councils across the state to provide access to all Tasmanians to be able to watch what will be one of the most important sporting moments in Tasmania's history.

Announcing the live sites on Saturday, Nick Duigan the Minister for Sports and Events, said a number of watch parties have been locked in, along with free public transport to the game.

“Across the state there will be watch parties at Devonport’s Market Square, Launceston’s Silverdome and the Princes Wharf Forecourt in Hobart,” Minister Duigan said.

“These events will be family friendly, with various activities to celebrate Tassie hosting the final and of course, the Hurricanes’ fantastic season.

Minister Duigan also discussed more ferries being available for Hurricanes fans.

"To help people get to and from Monday’s sold-out game, we’ve also organised four free additional ferry services between Brooke St Pier and Bellerive.

“Ferries will be running every 15 minutes, and the City of Hobart have organised a park and ride from the Domain. So, I encourage everyone to take a walk through the city, grab a drink and then jump on the ferry to the game."

Cricket Tasmania's General Manager - Marketing and Communications, Shayne Wicks explained how great the support of the Hurricanes has been this season.

“Selling out Ninja Stadium in back-to-back games is a credit to the Tasmanian public and shows the impact that this Hobart Hurricanes team have had across the state this season.

“The live sites provide access for all Tasmanians to bask in the shared experience of watching arguably the biggest cricket in our state’s history, despite not being in the stadium on Monday.

“Make sure to get to one of the live sites and put your support behind the Hurricanes!” said Wicks.

PW1 will open to the public, with the livestream on the forecourt beginning from 6:00 pm, with seats and bean bags and shade will be available, but people are welcome to bring their own comfortable camping seat, and there will be a few food vans on site selling food and beverages

Launceston’s Silverdome will be accessible from 6:30 pm, with some food and beverages available for purchase.

Market Square in Devonport will also host a screening, but space is strictly limited, people are advised to bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
