After a season ending injury to Billy Stanlake, the Hobart Hurricanes can announce that Western Australia pace bowler Cameron Gannon will be joining the Hurricanes BBL|14 squad for the reminder of the season.
Losing Stanlake through has opened up a pace bowling spot for the Hurricanes, and after Chris Jordan missed the past two games with back pain, there was space for an experienced bowler to join the squad.
Gannon has played for three different BBL franchises during his career, and last played for the Brisbane Heat during BBL|11, his other two clubs were the Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Renegades.
The 35-year-old has been in terrific form for Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield, taking 17 wickets in the first five matches of the Shield season, and also recently played in the Major League Cricket competition in the United States, where he holds a dual passport.
If selected in Sunday's XI, Gannon will be presented with Hurricanes Cap No. 99.
The full Hobart Hurricanes squad for their match against the Melbourne Stars will be released at 5 pm tomorrow.
