After last night's huge win against the Brisbane Heat, the Hurricanes have now guaranteed a top two position and the vital double chance. We are sure that fans had their calculators out over the past few games, trying to determine what was required to ensure a home final, but we have done the hard work and can provide you with the state of play ahead of next week's finals campaign.
Tonight's Sydney Smash between the Sixers and the Thunder is the first part of the equation.
See below:
- If the Sydney Thunder win, the Hurricanes finish first and we host the Qualifier against the Sydney Thunder at Ninja Stadium on Tuesday.
- If the Sydney Sixers win, the Hurricanes will need to beat the Melbourne Stars on Sunday to ensure a home final at Ninja Stadium. If the Hurricanes then lose on Sunday, the Qualifier will be played at the SCG between the Sixers and Hurricanes.
- If the match tonight in Sydney ends in a no result (remember what happened when we were set to play the Thunder in Sydney...), the Hurricanes finish first and the Qualifier will be played against the Sydney Sixers at Ninja Stadium next Tuesday.
We will be providing further communication around ticketing for next week's matches tomorrow. Make sure tune into tonight's match, and get behind the Thunder to help us get a home final next Tuesday, and give the 'Cane Train the best chance to win our first BBL Final.
It's our time!
