New Year's Day BBL Cricket at NINJA Stadium, is there anything more Tasmanian that that!?
The Hurricanes return to Hobart to take on the Sydney Sixers in what is shaping up to be one of the best matchups of BBL|14 season to date.
After beating the Strikers on 27 December, the Hurricanes are excited to be returning home and hoping to add another win to their record as they move into 2025.
Following a record total of 5-214 against the Strikers, the highest in BBL|14 so far, the Purple Army were led brilliantly by Ben McDermott (68* off 34 balls), Shai Hope (37 off 22), and Tim David (33 off 14), who all starred with the bat and will look to carry their strong form forward.
Chris Jordan (2/36), and Nathan Ellis (1/34) were the pick of the bowlers for the 'Canes, as they aim to end the Sixers batters strong form in tomorrow's huge game.
The Sixers come into the match atop the BBL|14 ladder having started the tournament 4 - 0, having won every match so far in the tournament, something the Hurricanes will be hoping to change.
Matthew Wade returns to the Hurricanes squad following a calf compliant suffered in the first game of the season against the Renegades but will be a much-welcomed inclusion if selected in the starting XI.
Paddy Dooley comes out of the Hurricanes squad to make way for Wade, who will be wanting to help the 'Cane Train to their third consecutive win.
