After much speculation, the Hobart Hurricanes can confirm their first squad of the BBL|14 season.
In what has been an exciting build-up to game one in Geelong, a travelling squad of 14 has now been confirmed as the Hurricanes hope to start the season off with a win against the Renegades.
If selected, Purple Hurricanes caps will be handed to Shai Hope, Waqar Salamkheil, and Marcus Bean, who have all joined the Hurricanes for their first match of the year.
Hope arrived in Australia yesterday, and will be looking to hit the ground running as one of the Hurricanes star overseas imports, after being in terrific form for the West Indies in a One Day International series against Bangladesh.
Salamkheil, arrived in Tasmania for the first time late last week, and performed well in practice matches with the Hurricanes on Friday at Brighton, and on Monday under lights at NINJA Stadium.
Bean has been playing for Lindisfarne CC in the Cricket Tasmania Premier League since arriving from Brisbane at the start of January, and the tall quick will be looking to make a name for himself if selected.
Iain Carlisle is unavailable for selection due to a back injury, and Mac Wright is tracking well for a return to cricket in the new year, as he rehabs a knee injury sustained in February.
