Hurricanes bring down the Renegades

The Hurricanes season is still alive as they fought off the Renegades in a match full of impressive moments.

It was a killer start for the girls with the ball after winning the toss, they had the Renegades 4-15 by the 5th over in magical fashion.

Highlights from the innings included Heather Graham’s immaculate 3-12 (4.0) and Molly Strano’s 2-14 (4.0), bringing up a special moment of 150 WBBL wickets to her name – a feat that has only been met by one other WBBL player.

The cutthroat energy the Hurricanes brought resulted in the Renegades being restricted to 9-101 by the end of the innings.

It was a total that the Hurricanes had expected to chase down with ease, but it was a slow and steady attitude that got the girls in purple to victory at the end.

Captain Elyse Villani kept them in control of the entire innings with her 46*, closely supported by Nicola Carey who wrapped up on 25*.

The fate of the Hurricanes season now rests in the hands of the results of upcoming matches, but they’ve made themselves proud by currently being two from two.

Player of the match was awarded to Heather Graham
